The Lost City (Part 2)
I looked closely to the the statue and realised it pictured a king, on his throne, he had a staff in his hand and an orb floating on his left hand. The king pictured as a statue also wore an amulet, similar to the one the panther wore. He remembered that the amulet the panther wore missed a piece, but this amulet was mysteriously exactly the same, it wasn't the other piece, it was 100% identical. Then suddenly, the panther was a few meters behind him. From the panthers eyes, I knew the panther wanted me to follow it.
The panther led me through some forgotten streets and finally, I saw where it was leading me, it was a castle, massive and full of broken bricks and stairs. There were lots of holes in the walls of the lost building and through the holes, I saw panthers walking in the castle, they didn't seem to see me until one of them turned around and saw me, it said something to it's fellow panthers and they all stared at me. Me and the panther walked through the castle door opening that didn't have a door in it, and then, I saw something I didn't believe I was seeing, it was an old man sitting down on a stair. He had a bard as long as Rapunzel's hair and the castle's interior around me was broken, every table at least had a thousand cracks in it and chandeliers missed a dozen candles. The man looked at me and smiled, he walked towards me and said: "Hello there, I am William, I was the wise man in this kingdom."
"Well, several moons ago, our kingdom was very rich, people walked along the streets, we had enough food, we could survive the worst of disasters, nothing was able to defeat us.", answered William, "It was a day like any other, I was sitting in my laboratory doing what I normally do, when behind me, a wizard appeared, he stole my staff and the next second, I ran out and I was directly greeted by a group of panthers, I was terrified, the panthers were the people, I realised. I went back into the lab and it was empty, every bit of alchemy was gone, poof. I have been looking for a solution, some years now and in the meantime, the city started to disappear. Vines grew everywhere and bricks fell and collapsed upon themselves."
"Do you not have any solution?", I asked, sunken into the story.
"Well yes, but it includes 2 people to work together and attack the wizard's tower.", answered William, "That is why I was happy to see you come into the building. Would you help a stranger?"
I agreed to help him and all the panthers that gathered behind me roared with excitement, they depended on me.
To be continued...
