Time Travel made Real (Part 1)
"So, here is the invention that I have been working on for quite a while now," said Dr. Phobia to the guests, "It is almost done, but it really is a very hard project."
Dr. Phobia led the guests to a room in the basement and when he opened the door, Dr. Phobia stopped at the doorway and said: "It is a work-in-progress time machine."
He walked in the room and after guests had heard the invention, they laughed at him, the guests thought it was a scientific joke that the inventor was making, but when they did go inside, they were quite shocked. It was a serious project where Dr. Phobia is working on making a time machine work, in real life. Most of guests had only heard of a time machine and time travel in a sci-fi book but never in front of their eyes. The room was very small for such a big project, it only had a small computer in the corner of the room and a massive machine that covered the rest of the room.
News spread all over the place and eventually, the whole world knew what they are expecting from Dr. Phobia. Waves of journalists keep on interrupting the experiments Dr. Phobia was taking and the planned schedule had to be delayed a couple of times before the craze started stagnating when fidget spinners got introduced to the world. Dr. Phobia was happy with that, because now, he would be able to experiment as much as they wanted and not have to worry about any wave to journalists, scientists or fans to come knocking at his front door and pushing their way to the basement and into the room with all that machinery.
Dr. Phobia is a very old and wise scientist, he knows what he is doing and has huge enormous dreams that will eventually come true if he works as hard as now. People have laughed at him when he was designing a rocket that could fly to the moon but then, when he did invent one, heads turned at him and start to take him a little more seriously. Then he would start another project and then people started laughing again. That is the Dr. Phobia cycle and it seems to never end, since he graduated from the university. He lives in a small house that was full of big experiments, some looked more intimidating than others but overall, they all where very interesting to scientists.
The time machine Dr. Phobia is working on is almost finished, it already has the power to travel time but the only problem with the machine was that it wasn't fully safe to time travel with, he hasn't fixed the problem for body distortion, a problem where the object doesn't come out of the time machine in one piece, it had been a very though year for this inventor to wake up one morning and come up with an idea, it seemed to never come to him, he just can't wrap his already great mind around something even greater. The more time Dr. Phobia had been failing, the more people didn't believe in him, he started to feel very ill and wanted to cancel the project but he just didn't have the strength to do so.
One very sunny morning, Dr. Phobia woke up from his little bed and brushed his teeth when he heard some footsteps and a door open and close. He always had those weird thoughts that played with his mind but somehow, this was too realistic to be fake. He walked to his room with the time machine and still brushing his teeth, he found out that the time machine was gone! All that work and all the papers have all disappeared. He threw his toothbrush at the wall and ran outside, he cried: "Why did you rob me cruel world?"
